Back in 2004 at the closing of Olympics in Athens, Martin Garrix, aged 8, became a fan of DJ Tiësto. The dream of collaborating with his idol came true in 2015 when Martin records "Voices" with Tiësto.

The title is used for the spring 2015 advertising campaign of 7UP, it is renamed "The Only way is UP" to better match with the brand. It was officially released on May 4, 2015. Shots of the two DJs together are made in Miami during the recording, to illustrate the video clip, in addition to live parts.
