Martin Garrix & Ed Sheeran
Repeat It
After more than a decade of waiting, “Repeat It” officially arrived on May 15, 2026. What started as one of the most legendary unreleased Martin Garrix IDs eventually became one of the most anticipated releases in the history of the fan community.
The collaboration between Martin Garrix and Ed Sheeran first surfaced in early 2015, when Ed revealed during an interview that he had been working on a special project with the young Dutch producer. Not long after, Martin began testing the track during live performances, quickly turning the song into a fan favorite despite never receiving an official release.
At the time, “Repeat It” represented a unique crossover between Martin’s progressive house sound and Ed Sheeran’s melodic songwriting. The emotional chorus, combined with festival-driven production, instantly stood out during Martin’s sets throughout 2015.
Over the years, the track became one of the most requested unreleased songs among Garrix fans. Snippets, live recordings and remakes continued circulating online while the original version remained locked away. In 2017, Martin confirmed that the song would most likely never be released due to label-related issues, making the story around the track even more legendary within the community.
Hope slowly returned at the end of 2025 when Martin Garrix and Ed Sheeran were seen together again in New York. Starting in May 2026, the teasing around “Repeat It” quickly went viral across social media. Martin and Ed recreated their iconic 2015 photo, while another viral reel showed Martin trying to FaceTime Ed to finally release the song, without getting an answer. The campaign continued with billboards showing Martin humorously asking Ed when their collaboration would finally come out.
On May 14, 2026, during his 30th birthday, Martin officially announced that “Repeat It” would be released at midnight as his birthday gift to the fans. A few hours later, on May 15, 2026, more than 11 years after its first appearances, the song was officially released worldwide.
The artwork for “Repeat It” was created by contemporary artist Werner Bronkhorst, known for his textured abstract paintings featuring hyper-realistic miniature characters. Born in South Africa and now based in Australia, Bronkhorst built a massive audience online through his instantly recognizable style, combining thick sculptural paint textures with tiny detailed human figures placed inside large-scale abstract environments.
The cover of “Repeat It” perfectly reflects this artistic universe, featuring the iconic repeat emoticon while miniature versions of Martin Garrix and Ed Sheeran appear within the artwork. The visual stays faithful to Bronkhorst’s signature aesthetic, mixing minimalist composition, textured surfaces and ultra-realistic details, giving the single artwork a unique identity that quickly became part of the release’s viral rollout.

Lyrics
Written by Ed Sheeran, Martijn Garritsen, Amy Wadge.
Stay for the night
Call it what you want
And I’ll compromise
To have you in my arms
Is this what you needed
‘Cause I’ll find the faith in anything
Don’t fight the feeling
Rewind, repeat it
If the world ends tonight
You’ll be in my arms
We’ll be frozen in time
Underneath the stars
My lungs are screaming
This heart is bleeding
Oh I love this feeling
So rewind, repeat it
So rewind, repeat it
Just close your eyes
All you need to see
Is your heart and mine
Underneath the sheets
Don’t fight your demons
‘Cause they will tear you apart from the seams
And if darkness creeps in
Rewind, repeat it
If the world ends tonight
You’ll be in my arms
We’ll be frozen in time
Underneath the stars
My lungs are screaming
This heart is bleeding
Oh I love this feeling
So rewind, repeat it
So rewind, repeat it
If the world ends tonight
You’ll be in my arms
We’ll be frozen in time
Underneath the stars
My lungs are screaming
This heart is bleeding
I love this feeling
So rewind, repeat it
