Martin Garrix
Poison
Two months after leaving Spinnin’ Records, Martin Garrix enters a new phase. No major label, no clear roadmap, just full control and uncertainty.
During Amsterdam Dance Event in October 2015, he releases Poison as a free download. A direct move, without promotion build-up, simply sharing new music with fans.
The track itself is raw and energetic, closer to his club sound, but carrying a different weight in that context. It’s not just another release, it’s a statement.
The official video reflects that exact moment. Shot during ADE, it mixes footage from his sold-out show, industry appearances, time in the city, and interactions with fans. More than a music video, it captures a turning point.
That same week, Garrix is ranked No. 3 in the DJ Mag Top 100. While some were questioning his future after leaving his label, he was already setting the foundation for what would come next.
Poison feels like the start of something new. No compromises, no expectations, just a track released on his own terms.
At the time, Martin Garrix shared it with a simple message:
“I can’t thank you all enough for all the tremendous support you’ve shown me. As a token of my appreciation, here is my latest track ‘Poison’ free on SoundCloud. Thank you. Best, Martijn // +x”
