Martin Garrix delivered one of the biggest surprises of Tomorrowland last night, unveiling several unreleased tracks during his Mainstage set.
As has become a tradition for his Tomorrowland appearances, Martin Garrix opened with an emotional orchestral intro built around a powerful violin melody. The atmosphere shifted when deep, intimate lyrics entered the track, and reached another level once the crowd realized the voice belonged to Martin himself. It was a rare and unforgettable opening.
Garrix then moved through his biggest hits, fan-favorite collaborations and a selection of IDs before saving the night’s major reveal for the finale.
For the closing track, he welcomed U2 guitarist The Edge on stage to premiere “Fireflies,” an upcoming collaboration between Martin Garrix and the legendary Irish band. The artists previously joined forces in 2021 on “We Are the People,” the official anthem of UEFA Euro 2020.
“Fireflies” is expected to arrive later this month. It follows Garrix’s recent releases “Repeat It” with Ed Sheeran and “Bizarre” with Madonna, further building anticipation for his new album, scheduled for this fall. Judging by the music revealed so far, the project is shaping up to be one of the most exciting chapters of his career.
