On July 29, 2018, Martin Garrix closed the Tomorrowland festival in Boom, Belgium. To conclude his set, he premiered a brand-new track titled High on Life, introducing it live to thousands of festivalgoers gathered on the Mainstage.
One year after the debut of Pizza at the same festival, Garrix once again chose Tomorrowland as the place to reveal one of his most anticipated releases. Featuring vocals by Bonn, High on Life blends progressive house melodies with an emotional vocal performance. The track captures the uplifting atmosphere often associated with Garrix’s festival sets, built around soaring chords and a euphoric drop designed for large crowds.
Only minutes after the performance ended, the single was officially released on streaming platforms through STMPD RCRDS. The official video, published shortly afterwards on YouTube, consists of footage from the very same Tomorrowland closing set where the song had just been premiered.
High on Life quickly gained strong traction among fans and charts. The track reached No. 1 on the Ultratop Dance chart in Belgium and entered several international charts, including No. 11 in New Zealand, No. 16 on the US Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart and No. 19 in the Netherlands.
