Afrojack & Martin Garrix

Turn Up the speakers

Turn Up the Speakers sees Martin Garrix team up with Afrojack on a track built for pure festival impact. The collaboration brings together two of the Netherlands’ most influential names in electronic music, combining Garrix’s sharp, energetic production with Afrojack’s heavier, groove-driven sound.

The track leans into a raw electro house approach, with a punchy build-up and a drop designed to hit instantly on big systems. Its structure is direct, efficient, no unnecessary elements, just tension and release, exactly what works on a mainstage. The vocal hook “turn up the speakers” acts as a simple trigger, made to connect with crowds within seconds.

Released in August 2014, the track quickly gained strong visibility across festivals and clubs, becoming one of the standout collaborations of that period. It also performed well commercially, entering charts in multiple countries including Belgium, France and the Netherlands, while receiving heavy support from DJs worldwide.

The official music video, shot in New York, follows a young woman in a Brooklyn hotel room. Through vintage screens and an almost 80s-inspired atmosphere, the story shifts between reality and a night out filled with music and energy, before revealing it was all a dream.

Turn Up the Speakers remains one of the major collaborations in Martin Garrix’s catalog, a track that perfectly captures the energy of the 2014 festival era while highlighting the chemistry between two leading figures of the scene.
