Breakaway follows Carry You, one week later, continuing the IDEM rollout with another fan favorite ID. Premiered during Ultra Miami 2023, the track had already built strong momentum in Martin’s sets before its official release.
This time, Martin Garrix joins forces with Mesto, with WILHELM on vocals. The collaboration feels natural, both artists sharing a similar approach to melodic and energetic productions.
The track keeps a strong progressive base, but with a slightly sharper edge. The build is tight, the drop hits clean, and the vocal brings a sense of urgency that drives the whole record forward.
Breakaway is one of those tracks that evolved in public. Played, tested, refined, then finally released once everything clicked. It was even played live by Coldplay during their 2024–2025 tour.
